Abstract
An all-optical multi-wavelength converter using a semiconductor optical amplifier based Mach-Zehnder interferometer is proposed and demonstrated. The proposed scheme can accommodate both NRZ and RZ format. WDM multicasting is confirmed by transmission experiment using conventional singlemode fibre before and after the multi-wavelength converter.
