Abstract
Liu et al. (1994) showed that the unconditionally stable area is shown in the Smith chart by plotting all the reflection coefficients of Γs,Γin,Γout,Γ l. The available matching area is specified by using the modified determinations of the stability criteria. It is applicable to the design of linear two-port amplifiers. The present brief correspondence shows that Fig. 2 in Liu et al. can be redrawn. Meanwhile, more detailed performances of this figure are discussed. The reflection coefficients of the operating points in a Smith chart are used to demonstrate the four-gamma method
