Abstract
The authors have developed a computer-controlled, one-chip car tuner IC that includes all FM stereo tuner functions for single-IF diversity, as well as an AM upconversion tuner. They describe the features and technological advantages of the AM upconversion tuner system block, which operates under computer control. The results of field testing have confirmed that the new one-chip IC with a built-in AM upconversion system satisfies the tuner specifications of automakers
