Abstract
China has a very wide territory and a very large population. Its fast developing economy will reach the middle-developed country´s level in the middle of 21st century, the needs for high-speed passenger transportation are increasing quite rapidly, so it is very important to define a correct development strategy for high-speed passenger transportation in the recent years. After detailed analysis and many discussions, we believe that for future China it is important to give high priority to the development of high-speed maglev. The present paper summarized the results of our strategy study and the progress of high-speed Maglev in China.
