Abstract
A novel, sensitive, and inexpensive frequency discriminator is presented for FSK demodulation in heterodyne receivers with large IF line-widths and for frequency discrimination in automatic frequency control (AFC) loops with wide tracking ranges. The detection bandwidth ranges from DC to over 6 GHz. At a modulation rate of 622 Mb/s, bit error rates as low as 10/sup -9/ were achieved with RF input powers ranging from -27.5 dBm to more than 0 dBm.<>
