Abstract :
Transmission of a 40 GHz radio signal carrying wideband FM video modulation has been demonstrated over 12.5 km of optical fibre and 1.0 m of radio path. This has been achieved without the use of a millimetre-wave source for the optical link, and without up-conversion or electrical amplification at the radio transmitter.
