Abstract
The relationship of the reproduced voltage and spacing in perpendicular recording is studied experimentally and analytically. Experimental results are obtained using a scale model of perpendicular recording, enlarged 5000 times, which simulates a single-pole head and double-layer medium system. In the analysis of the relationship, we extend Lopez´s method to include the effect of the potential variation near the top of the main pole, related to the variation in the spacing. We obtained good agreement between experimental and analytical results.
