Abstract
Hollow metallic waveguides at microwave frequencies exhibit a plasma-like behaviour below their cutoff frequency. When loaded with a magnetised ferrite, it is shown that the resulting waveguide structure has broadband and tunable left-handed material properties resulting in the negative phase velocity of the propagating wave, and significant transmission below the cutoff frequency of the waveguide
