Abstract :
A new transmission line model is proposed for computing the input impedance of a slot-coupled rectangular patch antenna. Based on simple formulae and standard library elements, it is readily implemented in an RF-circuits simulator. Because simulations require little numerical work, it allows one to approach final design parameter values quickly, then to switch over to an EM simulator depending on the required accuracy. Simulations based on this model compare well with experimental data
