Comsoc serving humanity - a global example [The President´s Page]

A core purpose of IEEE ¿ and its technical societies such as ComSoc ¿ is to benefit humanity. While this can be manifested in many ways, IEEE already has a number of tangible activities under way. The IEEE Committee on Earth Observation (ICEO) has served as a focal point for selected societal impacts of engineering. As will be seen in this month¿s President¿s Page, ¿communications¿ is integral to achieving global earth observation for natural disaster warnings using worldwide ¿systems of systems.¿ The Communications Society has been working with ICEO to contribute to these activities.
