Abstract :
The main disadvantage in a developing country for a dedicated microprocessor-controlled machine system is the sophistication of the ``special engineering´´ involved in these systems. For a small firm using conventional numerical control (NC) machines to implement such systems in-house (even in developed countries) these costs are considerably reduced by the use of personal computers to program LSI´s in the NC mode.
