Abstract :
MR. CARLTON SMITH, Section President, who presided: In dealing with the subject of choice and maintenance of machine-tools, our lecturer has not only dealt with their design and upkeep, but has taken a much broader aspect, regarding those machines as living things-running, doing work and tended by live operators. At the outset he has considered the proper disposition and conditions under which both machines and operators should work, which greatly appeal to me.
