Abstract :
MR. HIGGINS: I think we have heard a very interesting paper but I consider it is too idealistic, and if I may say so, seems rather like pampering the workman. What do we get out of it as engineers? How will psychology assist me in selecting a suitable machinist? The whole thing seems a question of going to extremes, and it would appear that the old efficient type of craftsmen would soon become extinct, and that the new age will be, to a great extent, mechanical robots.
