Abstract
The author presents a new type of DS-CDMA receiver: the radial basis function (RBF) receiver. We compare this new receiver with traditional receiver structures such as the matched filter and minimum mean square error (MMSE) receiver. Simulation results show that the RBF receiver gives superior BER performance in Gaussian noise and dispersive channels compared to the traditional receiver structures, even when the traditional structures are enhanced by cancellation
