Abstract :
It is shown that transient braking torque characteristics for a case of a step of dc current applied to the main field can be obtained from equivalent circuit parameters. Based on the calculating method, effects of the rotor resistance r2 on the torque time lag td and the peak braking torque, the relation between rotor speed, and td are discussed.
