Abstract
MR. J. E. BATY: Sometimes I feel that there is a want of appreciation on the part of many engineers of the great assistance that such men as Mr. Loewen have been to the engineering industry. We are really measuring manufacturers. If you talk to an unintelligent engineer about process measuring he generally thinks that you are laying some sort of a trap for him, whereas you may be putting into his hands something that will lead not only to more accurate work but also to cheaper production. I think one could truthfully say that time measuring is helping in the advance of all engineering manufactures. Quick and accurate measuring is just as important, say, for the motor car manufacturer as quick and. accurate production.
