Reaching non-EMC Society standards committees on EMC

In this issue our standards column is devoted to updating the readers on one of our major Society standards committees ?? the Standards Advisory and Coordination Committee (SACCom). This committee is unique to our Society in that it is comprised of representatives from non-EMC Society standards committees which also develop EMC standards. They meet along with the EMC Society Standards Development and Education Committee (SDECom) the day before each EMC Society Board of Directors meeting, outside of that at the annual symposium and separately during the symposium week giving progress reports at the Board meeting later in that week. I asked the chair of SACCom ?? John Norgard ?? to fill us in on the committee´s activities and participants. At the end of this article John also provides an update to the Standards Travel Grant, which was recently approved by the Board of Directors.
