Abstract
A computer-aided synthesis technique for lumped matching networks with arbitrary nonuniform losses is presented. It is especially applicable to the design of broadband amplifiers in MMIC form. A useful theorem and two corollaries for the transformation between lossy and lossless networks are developed, so that the design of the lossy matching networks is considerably simplified and can yield complex models of the lumped elements with arbitrary nonuniform losses. An example showing the application of the method to monolithic broadband amplifier design is given.<>
