Abstract :
Small and lightweight cigarette-box-size converters for DBS (direct broadcasting satellite) and FSS (fixed service satellite) are realized. Both converters are realized on a single substrate. The FSS converter has a control circuit for the polarization switch while the DBS converter can receive the signal of both circular polarizations (right-handed and left-handed circular polarization, RHCP and LHCP) by the simple exchange of two feeds. Both converters fit well on small antennas. Hence, they can be used as indoor units or portable outdoor units. The reception of both TDF-1 (RHCP) and TV-SAT (LHCP) was tested by exchanging the feed of the DBS converter
