Abstract :
A scheme for cheaply, easily, and accurately measuring the gains and radiation patterns of Wi-Fi-band antennas is presented. Considering the cost, size, and convenience, a high-gain microstrip Vivaldi antenna, based on anisotropic zero-index metamaterials, is used for the transmitter. A homodyne receiver is designed to simplify the receiver´s architecture. Implementing an RF switch and a dual-polarized antenna, the design is also suitable for testing non-standard-polarization antennas. The proposed measurement system has been validated by comparing the results to a commercial measurement system.
