Abstract
Representation theorems for linear causal input-output maps that take certain bounded R -valued functions on (0, ∞) into not necessarily-bounded functions on the same time interval are presented. In particular, an identification is made between an important class of maps and a set of functions of bounded variations on compact subsets of [0, ∞). These functions have the interpretation that they are step responses
