Abstract
We derive the average bit error rate (BER) and the average throughput for adaptive quadrature amplitude modulation (AQAM) with constant transmit power over frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels. Based on these derived BER and throughput expressions, we go on to investigate the effect of multipath diversity on AQAM using two BER constraints.
