Abstract :
The single antenna method is a technique for measuring the absolute gain of an antenna, involving only input impedance or reflection coefficient measurements for that antenna. Here we present a modification to the method which also yields the phase of the far zone electric field. The method is a variation of the two antenna method, in which the second identical antenna is obtained via the image of the antenna under test into a large reflecting plate. A time gating procedure is used to isolate the energy reflected from the plate
