Abstract :
The authors describe a method of a magnetic recording analysis taking into account magnetic hysteresis in a medium and eddy currents in a head by using a two-dimensional finite-element method. The method used to calculate the magnetic hysteresis is a curling model. In addition, this method is applied to a flexible disk drive. The influence of eddy current in the metal-in-gap (MIG) head on the magnetization in the medium is investigated
