Abstract
The power efficiency of two proposed modulation techniques suitable for diffuse infrared channels in comparison with the most frequently used OOK and 4-PPM have been evaluated. While the power requirements of the first proposed modulation technique are close to those of 4-PPM, the second technique provides the best power efficiency for multipath channels at bit rates up to 40 Mbit/s
