  • Abstract
    An overview is given of high-speed-computer projects in the USSR from the mid-1960s to the present. It covers the BESM-6, El´brus, the M-10, MARS, the ES-1766, the PS-x000, the TAGREI programmable architecture multiprocessor, and the IPM multiprocessor. The state of scientific computing in the USSR and the impact of recent political and organizational changes are discussed.<>
