Abstract :
For original paper see Ziolkowski and Kipple (IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag., vol.51, no.10, p.2626-40, 2003 October). The results of the commented paper are of no value for evaluating the performance of small antennas surrounded by double negative material. The characterizing parameter "radiated power gain" is misleading and turns out to be a relative input resistance rather than a gain.
