Abstract :
Deb Chattopadhyay comments on the paper by Wilsun Xu et al. (see ibid., vol.16, p.719-28, 2002). The author asks for comments on four points: (1) the opportunity cost of provision of reactive power; (2) the approximate effect of (inadequate) reactive power demand; (3) proportional allocation of the reactive power revenue; and (4) the dynamic VAr reserve. Wilsun Xu replies to the comments.
