Abstract :
Using the torsion pendulum method, the first-order-anisotropy field and the magnetization of textured permanent magnets can be obtained. In the past, however, this method was restricted to measurements with the texture axis parallel to the applied field. In the present work the determination of the irreversible magnetization reversal as a function of the angle between texture axis and external magnetic field is reported. It is shown that measurements performed on a barium ferrite single crystal and a sintered, textured NdFeB magnet are in good agreement with standard vibrating sample magnetometer measurements
