  • Abstract
    This paper introduces a novel method that enables intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) detection of atherosclerotic plaque inflammation based on quantification of vasa vasorum (VV) density and perfusion. The method consists of a contrast-enhanced IVUS acquisition protocol and a series of signal/image processing techniques to detect VV in the resulting contrast-enhanced sequences
