Abstract :
This paper studies the design of proper compensators to achieve arbitrary denominator matrices in the unity feedback configuration. The problem is first transformed into a set of linear algebraic equations. Some conditions for the existence of proper compensators are then developed. The design is achieved by solving the set of linear algebraic equations and is believed to be much simpler than the existing design methods.
