Abstract
The applicability and model dependence of a power-law relation between the differential phase and differential attenuation in rain are investigated. The power law is found to be a good approximation at frequencies up to 20 GHz, with the parameters exhibiting a slight dependence on raindrop size distribution and a considerable dependence on the model assumed for the drop-shape.
