Abstract :
A full wave analysis of a wideband ridge-loaded finline including finite metallisation thickness and substate mounting grooves has been carried out for the first time. The method is based on the spectral analysis and boundary integration approach (SAABIA). The dispersion characteristics are presented for some practical wideband ridge-loaded finline structures (RFSs). The results show that the single-mode bandwidth of RFSs may be extended by adjusting the dimensions of the ridges.
