  • Abstract
Simple superposition arguments suggest that the demagnetizing fields in a single-tone (ST) magnetization pattern will result in higher thermal decay of the magnetization than for the corresponding component of a data storage pattern. We present results which indicate that this is not a major effect, and conclude that spinstand decay measurements of ST patterns are preferable to measurements of pseudorandom sequence patterns.
