Abstract
A two-dimensional (2-D) finite-element procedure for the analysis of laminated cores taking into account hysteresis is proposed. The approach derives from a previous formulation, where the diffusion phenomena along the lamination thickness were included through the coupling of two nested iterative schemes. In this paper, the efficiency of the numerical approach is significantly improved by the direct inclusion of the one-dimensional electromagnetic field problem inside the lamination depth into the 2-D problem, avoiding the double iterative scheme.
