Abstract
An integrated, interactive environment for the structural and geometric design of power lines is described. New design concepts that achieve greater economy are introduced. The environment, developed on MS-DOS microcomputers, is the result of an international effort. A three-dimensional GIS-type representation of the terrain was adopted and described. Four different methods available to describe the strength of a structure in a structure file are detailed. Line installation, view functions, and reports, drafting, and archiving are discussed.<>
