Participate in the process . . . [Standards]

A s engineers, we need to be involved in the standards-making process for other standards that have an impact on our electrical engineering world. One particularly important standard is the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard, NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code. Although the name may imply that it is strictly a standard for the United States, it is viewed as a reference of good practice in many countries around the world.
