Abstract :
It is pointed out that the formula given in IEEE Trans. Veh. Technol. , vol. 54, p. 2146, 2005 for the moment of the maximum of independent, but not identically distributed, Weibull random variables has been known before in a more general setting (see J. Comput. Appl. Math., vol. 117, p. 85, 2000). Some additional results from the general setting in J. Comput. Appl. Math., vol. 117, p. 85, 2000 are stated. In view of the fact that IEEE Trans. Veh. Technol., vol. 54, p. 2146, 2005 use a different approach from that in J. Comput. Appl. Math., vol. 117, p. 85, 2000, a comparison is provided of the two approaches
