Abstract :
The presentation will address the nature of public and occupational health risks associated with each of the current energy technology alternatives. Technologies including coal, nuclear, and solar will be considered in terms of health impacts per equivalent amount of energy produced. The discussion will summarize the impacts specific to each technology and identify those aspects of the various fuel cycles that are of greatest concern. Contrasts will be drawn between various technological alternatives in order to put the risks associated with the various technologies into a common perspective.
