  • Abstract
For pt.I see ibid., vol.3, no.4, p.225 (1989). The author looks at the scheme for the construction of a 58 km pipeline to pump sewage sludge from Manchester to Liverpool via a total of five pumping stations with an additional input of sludge at Warrington Sewage Works. Each pumping station has its own dedicated processor in the form of a programmable logic controller (PLC) to start, stop and control the complete pumping station operation. The whole pipeline performs as a fully integrated system on automatic control
