Abstract :
This paper describes an integral equation approach to solving for the flux front profile in the critical state model. Both nonuniform external fields and demagnetizing geometries can be accommodated as long as cylindrical symmetry is preserved. The solution and measurement results for a tape in the field of an external coil parallel to the tape surface are presented.<>
