Abstract :
A new independently controllable dual-feed dual-beam phased array has been designed and measured at Ka-band. Thirty-two planar microstrip patch antennas are used to form a two-dimensional 4 /spl times/ 8 array, and two radiating beams are obtained by feeding both sides of the patch array. Two piezoelectric transducers are used to control phase shifts for beam steering. Two beams with a beam squint at /spl plusmn/13/spl deg/ in the E-plane are steered in the H-plane independently. The measured gain and beam steering angle are 13 dBi and 20/spl deg/, respectively.
