  • Abstract
    0.78 mu m self-aligned AlGaAs lasers have been developed for optical disc recording. The lasers have shown a small astigmatism (<3 mu m), low-noise characteristics (RIN<-126 dB/Hz at 3 mW) and stable 30 mW operation (over 1800 hours at 50 degrees C).
