Abstract :
In this article, a low cost, real-time patient monitoring platform designed to improve the current medical services in China´s community healthcare system for the BOP population is presented. The current system is composed of three parts: the smart sensor unit, the server unit, and the medical assistant (MA) unit. Some vital-sign signals such as electrocardiogram (ECG), skin temperature (ST), pulses, and respiration could he detected and acquired by sensors before being transmitted to the remote server unit located at higher-tier hospitals and viewed on the MA screen. Some user-friendly interfaces have also been designed for the easy use of community and village doctors (C/VDs). This platform is ideal for designing wireless patient monitoring system applications for C/VDs such that it can gather real time biosignals; store, display, and analyze data and communicate information between servers and terminals. The C/VDs can use the system for on-the-spot diagnosis as well as remote specialist consultations in higher-tier hospitals for further medication
