Parametric amplification of magnetostatic, magnetoelastic and acoustic waves for microwave delay at room temperature

This letter describes enhanced microwave delay by parametric amplification of magnetostatic, magnetoelastic and acoustic waves. The observations were made at room temperature in single-crystal yttrium-iron garnet (y.i.g.) at 1 Gc/s, and display low pump-power threshold for all three effects and 40dB electronic gain for acoustic-wave amplification.
