Low-current beam--plasma experiments with a bearing on turbulence

Experiments are described and discussed on the excitation by low-voltage electron beams of plasma electron and ion oscillations in almost the whole acoustic-to-gigahertz frequency range, and on the reaction of these on single and double beams and on one another, which provide examples of the development and nature of turbulence, in the generalised sense in which this is now understood.
