Muscle stimulator controlled by myoelectric signals

A stimulator for paralysed muscles, controlled by myoelectric signals, is described. Feedback from pickup and stimulation electrodes is avoided by using a time-sharing technique. Some simple controlled movements of the hand and the arm of a hemiplegic patient have been obtained by picking up control signals from muscles synergistic with the paralysed ones.
