Abstract
In highly segmented particle detectors, the crosstalk coupling capacitance between segments may vary from several per cent to as much as 30 % of the total electrode capacitance. Techniques for reducing associated errors by using flat-topped filter weighting functions and low input inpedance preamplifiers will be presented. The damping of resonances due to lead inductance and transformer leakage inductance, which strongly affect the crosstalk signals, will be discussed. Practical circuits using sample-and-hold techniques will be presented.
