Abstract :
THIS YEAR seems destined to be the year of the flexible manufacturing system (FMS). This is not just because 1982 is the year in which the much rumoured SCAMP project will be unveiled by the 600 Group. But also because over the past few months, news has been flooding in to Production Engineer of many major developments in this area.
