Abstract
A method based on the small-gain theorem is provided for estimating the robust dead time for closed-loop stability. The method lends itself to generalization for multivariable systems and also to graphical implementation. Some examples are provided to demonstrate the use of the method, and the results are compared to the exact critical values of dead time
